About Nik

Dr. Nik Tehrani teaches E-Business, Management, and Marketing courses at California State University - East Bay, University of California - Berkeley extension, and Northwestern Polytechnic University in Fremont, CA. He earned his PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in Electronic Commerce from Northcentral University, holds an MBA with a specialization in Executive Management from Pepperdine University and a BS in Electrical Engineering.

Dr. Tehrani is also the President and CEO of Savitron, Inc., an Electronic Manufacturing Solution Company. Prior to Savitron, he was the Global Director of Program Management at Sanmina-SCI, a leading EMS provider focused on delivering complete end-to-end manufacturing capabilities and highly complex solutions to technology companies around the world; the Managing Director and Founder of Majital Solutions, a Manufacturing and Engineering Consulting Company; VP of Sales and Engineering of ACI, an Electronic Manufacturing Company; and VP of Operations of CoMan Manufacturing, Inc.

Dr. Tehrani has been able to supplement his teaching with professional experiences; spending over 20 years as a high-level executive for various companies in Silicon Valley has enhanced the body of experiential knowledge he possesses and enabled him to pass on practical as well as theoretical information to his students. As the author of a couple of MBA textbooks, Contemporary Marketing Mix for the Digital Era and Understanding Green Business, he has translated these experiences into applied learning theories.

His paper titled Green Alternative Energy was published at the Global Energy Conference (GEC) organized by NPU in October 2010 along with papers from other scholars from Stanford University and MIT. Other papers Dr. Tehrani has published are E-Marketing Planning: Recognizing the Limitations of the Conventional 4Ps of the Marketing Mix in Applying to Today’s E-Business Environment, Journal of Technology and Business, 2006; Achieving Superior Results from the Mature Market through E-Marketing Planning, ProQuest/UMI, 2008; and A Futuristic View of American Economy, Journal of Technology and Business, 2009.

Dr. Tehrani also advises and mentors graduate students, being selected nearly every semester by MBA students at Northwestern Polytechnic University as a graduate project advisor. He is also a member of the Doctorate of Business Administration Committee at Northwestern Polytechnic University and often serves as a Dissertation Committee Chair or Member. Dr. Tehrani has taught Management, E-Marketing, and Business courses at Oulu Polytechnic University in Oulu, Finland; Shanxi Administrative University in Tai Yuan, China; Universidad Del Pacifico in Santiago, Chile; Sejong University in Seoul, Korea, and Saigon Tech Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

In addition, Dr. Tehrani is a member of various prestigious organizations such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Grade Member; United Nations Association of the United States; Common Wealth Club of California; New York Academy of Sciences; American Marketing Association; Higher Education Management Group; Renewable Energy Technology Inventions Group; and Worldwide Management Consultants.
